Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven - Song Story
I’ve never heard this hymn before (a common theme for this album), but it was written by Henry Francis Lyte in 1834, based on Psalm 103. I love the poetry in these lyrics, and the theology rings true. I’m pretty sure he didn’t imagine the music turning out the way it did in this version… but it does feel good preserving his beautiful lyrics for another generation.
