During the past 14 years Mike has served over 150 churches across Canada, advocating for children in poverty. In addition to 35+ years of experience leading worship (7 years as full-time Pastor of Worship & Arts), and more than 20 years of experience teaching at the high school and college levels, Mike has a Bachelor’s degree in Education (music) and a Master’s degree in Leadership & Training.
Mike is a Canadian Gospel Music Association Covenant Award and Western Canada Music Award Nominated Artist who spends his weekends serving churches… delivering Biblical messages, leading worship, facilitating worship team workshops, and presenting the ministry of ChildCare International across Canada.

“Singalongs & Pseudohymns” (2016) was recorded using some great gear on loan from what used to be Slyngshot Studios in Calgary. The 12 song CD features 8 contemporary remakes of old hymn lyrics, and 4 of Mike’s originals / co-writes. Mixed & Fixed by Andy Horrocks at AME Studios in Kitchener, ON, and mastered by Jason Germain in Nashville, TN. This critically acclaimed album received radio play on Christian radio stations in Canada, USA, and beyond.
“To The World” (2011) was recorded with Leroy Harder and Dan Nel at Slyngshot Studios in Calgary. The 12 song CD contains songs co-written with Laurell, Jon Bauer, Brad Rempel (of High Valley), and Dan Nel, in addition to seven of Mike original songs, and a remake of a favourite hymn. The project features 20 great musicians from across Canada. Several songs from this album are in rotation on Christian Radio stations across Canada.
“Together” (2006) was recorded with Anthony Packwood at Trinity Recording Studio in Calgary. It features 10 original worship songs, and two “bonus” tracks... an a cappella version of “Unify”, and a Christmas version of “Together”. Over 25 musicians contributed to the making of “Together”. “Redeeming Grace” from this project has been getting radio play for over 15 years now.
Mike’s 2016 album, “Singalongs & Pseudohymns” earned him a nomination for a Western Canada Music Award as “Spiritual Artist of the Year” 2016. It also claimed the #4 spot in Hallels.com “Favorite Worship Albums 2016: A Half Yearly Review” top 10 list. Mike is also a multiple Gospel Music Association Covenant Award Nominated Artist, with the following nominations: “Able” for GMA Rock Song of the Year 2016, “Nobody Loves Me Like You” (co-written and recorded with Jennifer Jade Kerr) for GMA Collaboration of the Year 2016, “Almighty God” for GMA Praise & Worship Song of the Year 2015; and “Sunday” (co-written with Brad Rempel of High Valley) for GMA Country / Bluegrass Song of the Year 2012.

Mike is a public speaker, singer/songwriter, worship leader, and ChildCare International Representative who lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with his wife Jennifer.
