To God All Praise & Glory - Song Story
I had heard this song before, but never without a pipe organ, and not for a long, long time. You can check out the original melody HERE. This is the oldest hymn on this CD project, and I believe these lyrics are worth sharing with another generation… The original hymn is entitled “Sing Praise To God Who Reigns Above” and the lyrics were written in German by Johann J Schulz in 1675; and later translated into English by Frances E Cox in 1864 - one hundred years before I was born.
I turned the last line of each verse into a bit of a chorus, and convinced my wife Jennifer and daughter Janessa to sing with me on this song…
This project was really a family effort, as my son Zach did the artwork and my dad served as one of the theologians for this album.
